The Imagination Box

There were rumors of a far off land to the east. It was said that there was much gold and a lot of jewels to be found. There were ice cream trees growing in this land just waiting to be picked.. When CJ heard about this, she was determined to find this place. Christine Joyce was very intelligent and knew what she needed to find this land of rumors. She was going to build an imagination box. An ordinary stationary imagination box would never do. This land was very far away and any ordinary box would never reach the place. CJ knew it had to be a portable imagination box. It also had to be small enough to mount on her bike handle bars. She had to take her bike because it was faster and her mom did not want her late for dinner.

Christine Joyce knew most of what had to go in the imagination box, and the rest she could only imagine. Since the land was off to the east, a compass had to be installed. A gyroscope was required for balance which CJ found in the basement under the work bench. There were two imagination filters installed in case one went bad. It also needed a camera mounted so imaginary pictures could be taken of the undiscovered land. There were also two ladybugs, a piece of rainbow, and her pink unicorn packed inside the box. Unicorns are very imaginative and are always required on long adventures. CJ worked on this imagination box all day and decided to try it out after she had dinner.

After dinner Christine Joyce took her imagination box to watch television. She used the box to imagine her favorite show was better than ever, and of course it was. She imagined that her mom would make a mango shake, and her mother did. CJ was satisfied that the imagination box worked right and decided to discover the undiscovered land first thing in the morning.

CJ woke very early and had a big breakfast, while she imagined it was great, and it was even better than that. Her mom packed her a lunch and snacks while CJ mounted the imagination box on her bike. There were secret items in there than no one knew about but very useful for finding lost lands. Christine Joyce rode her bike through caves and over mountains, and finally rode over an ancient bridge spanning a very deep river. CJ imagined that she made it across and she did. Looking around she knew right away she had discovered the lost land. There were ice cream trees everywhere. CJ ate chocolate and vanilla ice cream. She ate strawberry and pineapple and all kinds of flavors. By then it was late and CJ had no time to look for gold and jewels. As she was riding over the river, the imagination box fell off the bridge and was gone. Christine Joyce got home just in time for dinner but was not very hungry. And the land that was lost became lost once again.

It's extremely difficult to re-enter your childhood mind and put those thoughts on paper, but you did it!

Well done!

Thank you so much chuckandus6. Children should be encouraged to use their imagination so they will benefit from it into adulthood. I hope you check out some of CJs other adventures and I also plan on writing many more.

Thank you Lucky. Imagination is something we had to use before all the video games and computers were here. And the best part of imagination, it's free.

Thanks a lot Denise. This is still one of my favorite adventures. CJ also thanks you. She says building all these spaceships is hard work.
